5th Annual Quilt show Saturday, May 5, 2012, 9am – 4pm Sunday, May 6, 2012, 1pm – 4pm
Presented by The Women’s Advisory Council of the St. Bernards Development Foundation and sponsored by St. Bernards Senior Services and St. Bernards Village at the St. Bernards Auditorium, 505 East Washington, Jonesboro, Arkansas. No admission will be charged, although donations will be accepted.
The featured quilt artist is Barbara Shapel from Washougal, WA. Visit her website at www.barbarashapel.com for a complete listing of her accomplishments and other pictures of her award-winning pieces.
Members of area quilt guilds and other quilters from Arkansas, Missouri and Tennessee will display some of their favorite works along with fiber arts members in the Diamond Chapter of the Embroidery Guild of America, Ozark Folk Fiber Guild, spinners of yarn, and knitters. We will also have displays for crochet, smocking, and other fiber arts. To enter any items in the show, you can download the appropriate form—quilt, auction, other category. Please carefully read and comply with all requirements on the forms.
One of the highlights of the show is the Raffle Quilt. For 2012, members of the Sew E-Z Quilt Club in Jonesboro will make and donate the quilt. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $25 and may be purchased at the Foundation office, from members of the Women’s Advisory Council, members of the quilt club, and at the door. The quilt will be raffled at the show on Sunday afternoon, May 6, at 3:00 p.m. You do not have to be present to win.
For the Silent Auction, all quilters and sewers are asked to contribute hand-made items for the auction i.e. baby blankets, youth and lap quilts, pillow cases, wall hangings, knitted and crocheted items, handbags, travel bags, etc., and other items related to quilting and fiber arts.
Net proceeds from these two fund-raisers will be donated to the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
