Butterfly Note Cards available in time for Christmas

Looking for the perfect gift for that hard-to-shop-for person on your Christmas list?  We have some suggestions!

These are the same photos have been framed and mounted in each room in the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.  A great stocking stuffer for $10 and the proceeds support the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. 2. Caring Cooks Cookbook - features some of the region's finest cooks and proceeds support the Hospice House - $10. Order online.
 
3. The outrageously popular "Masquerade" $5 Jewelry & Accessories sale will be held Dec. 11 & 12 in the St. Bernards Medical Center Dietary Conference Room (located near the cafeteria entrance on the ground floor). The sale is open to employees and the general public. Sponsored by the St. Bernards Auxiliary, proceeds support their many projects including nursing scholarships, guest house and assist in purchasing equipment for the medical center.

Our first group of Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House Volunteers have been through their training and are now working at the Hospice House.  We continue to be pleased with the interest in this new volunteer organization and we want more volunteers so we can eventually provide staffing 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Duties include answering phones, assisting families of patients and providing staff support.  For future training dates or to find out more, contact St. Bernards Foundation Volunteer Coordinator, Dana Housley, - 870-336-5009, or complete the volunteer interest form here.

Santa Reads at December
Stories in the Forest

Santa kept everyone's attention while he read books at the December 5, 2009 Stories in the Forest

Stories in the Forest, a project of the Women's Advisory Council of St. Bernards Development Foundation, had a very special reader this month - Santa along with one of his elves read, and gave books to every child on Saturday, Dec. 5.

Our next Stories in the Forest in the St. Bernards Fun Forest in the Mall at Turtle Creek will be Saturday, Jan. 2 featuring Mark Young as our reader.

Welcome Paul!
Marilyn M. Hummelstein, President & CEO, St. Bernards FoundationPaul Holmes has joined the staff of the St. Bernards Development Foundation as Grants Coordinator.  Paul will seek out and write grant applications and monitor grant status.

Previously in the publishing industry as a newspaper and magazine writer and editor, Paul has been honored by the Arkansas Press Association and the Governor's Conference on Tourism. He is a member and past president of Jonesboro University Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow.  Paul's wife, Tommie, is a probation officer for Craighead County and their son, Lane, is a Jonesboro police officer.  Tommie and Paul are members of First United Methodist Church.

Paul is a native of West Memphis; '73 ASU graduate in the College of Communications and a sustaining Life Member of ASU Alumni Association. In October, Paul was appointed by Gov. Mike Beebe to the Arkansas Electronic Records Study Commission.
